About the Rhodes Scholarship
Applications for the Rhodes Scholarship 2026 are now open. This prestigious award enables outstanding students from around the globe to pursue full-time postgraduate studies at Oxford. The program is designed to nurture future leaders, encouraging public service, cross-cultural understanding, and international collaboration.
While applying can be competitive and demanding, the experience itself helps candidates grow personally and professionally, equipping them for success. Each year, Scholars join Oxford for two or more years, with the chance to pursue a wide range of postgraduate courses across almost every field of study.
Scholarship Benefits
The Rhodes Scholarship covers:
- Oxford University course fees (full tuition)
- Annual stipend of £19,800 (approx. £1,650/month) to cover living costs such as accommodation and meals (not enough to support dependents)
- Application fee for Oxford University
- Visa costs and International Health Surcharge (IHS) for access to the UK’s healthcare system
- Two economy flights – one to the UK at the start of the program and one return flight at the end
- Settling-in allowance upon arrival
- Additional support for Scholars who pursue a second Oxford degree (visa and IHS renewal assistance).
For DPhil (PhD) students, the Scholarship can provide funding for up to three years, depending on the course. Full details are listed in the Conditions of Tenure.
